Real-time text conversations between my best...
Stephanie: You're telling me. Oh, ps, guess who told me we're in charge of throwing her a kick ass 21st birthday bash? After which, I reminded her that you don't celebrate birthdays.
Me: Who? She said you and I specifically?
Stephanie: Si. This is one of our pregnant friends, if that helps your guessing process.
Me: Ahhhh. Well since as far as I know we only have ONE pregnant friend, it's not that hard to guess.
Stephanie: Were you thinking Herbert? Because that's who it was.
Me: I'm going to pretend I know who you're talking about and say Yeah!
Stephanie: Well, really it was Lynnette, but I'm bored in chemistry and I think we should make a whole new person named Herbert. Who wants to be a boy more than anything, but unfortunately, has a vagina.
Me: And apparently is pregnant! Interesting.
Stephanie: Poor Herbert. Now she'll never get to be a boy.
Me: Yes, poor thing. I guess I could adopt her child, if she really wanted...
Stephanie: Bitch, please. I've already called dibs on that baby.
Me: Mhmm.
Stephanie: I did. Ask Herbert.
Me: I believe you.
Stephanie: Are you sure? You're free to text Herbert...
Me: Nah, I believe you. So is she going to keep it then?
Stephanie: She hasn't decided. For one, though she tries to prevent it, she has very deep and intense mother instincts, but at the same time, having a mom who wants to be a man might not be best for her child... She's conflicted.
Me: I can see why.
Stephanie: She's asked for my advice on the situation so many times, and I just never know what to say...
Me: I wouldn't either! I've never encountered anything like this.
Stephanie: Herbert says her transgender friend Francine knew somebody in her situation, but she ended up having an abortion, which Herbert has said multiple times is not an option.
Me: That's good. I wouldn't want that to be an option.
Stephanie: So I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens when she has the baby.
Me: I guess so! I'm very anxious!
Stephanie: Herbert wants you at the hospital, too. She said you were very helpful in her last situation, and she trusts you.
Me: Her last situation? Is she talking about the transplant?
Stephanie: No, although she's appreciative of that. She means the shark bite in her lady business. You were apparently very calm as you fought off the shark and drove her to the ER.
Me: Oh yes. Well I did my best.
Stephanie: Well, thanks to you, she actually has a gender. And don't think she has forgotten.
Me: I'm shocked to find out I mean so much to her. We have always been fairly good friends, and I try to be the best friend that I can be, but still. I had no idea.
Stephanie: If she keeps her child, she'll probably throw in a middle name dedicated to you. And if she doesn't, she'll strongly suggest it to the adoptive parents.
Me: Tell Herbert she is lovely, no matter what gender she is!

Finished watching Journey's End last night. (Here...
And oh my God. Seriously, it’s ALL I can think about. Especially the part with Rose & the two Doctors, and with Donna having to leave. Heart-wrenching. Especially since she was my favorite character. And as for Rose, sure, she got to keep the “Doctor,” that was nice and all. But he’s not the Doctor. He’s a replica. He walks, talks, and thinks like the...

Sparrow & Nightingale: Episode One, Prologue
It all started three days after I met the Doctor in person. Larry and I had closed the shop down for the day. He had asked me to dinner. I wasn’t sure how I felt about all of this really… It all felt awfully fast. But driven by my curiosity (as I typically am), I said yes. We never made it to dinner, of course. It started raining the morning before. It’s why we closed the shop...

The Vashta Nerada
I’m the fairly stupid girl who went to bed last night after watching Silence in the Library and Forest of the Dead… Consequently, after getting up to turn off the tv and turning off the light, I RAN to my bed and bundled under the covers, because I (ME: the girl who DOES NOT get scared after films, as in the girl who watches a scary movie and can go home calm because she knows...

Whatever you do, don't blink.
“Blink” by Steven Moffat has most definitely been my favorite episode of the whole series of Doctor Who. Granted, I’m not even finished with season four as of yet (but getting close!!). Carey Mulligan is simply fantastic as Sally Sparrow, a photographer-turned-sleuth when she wanders into an abandoned and desolate house and discovers a message from 1969 with her own name...
